Vodafone World Headquarters, Newbury

Vodafone occupied its new 52,000 square metre World Headquarters on the edge of Newbury in 2003, bringing together some 3200 staff who hitherto had been dispersed throughout the town. We advised on the transport aspects of the project, including the preparation of one of the most significant and complex company travel plans now in operation in the UK, as well as traffic impact, access and off-site highway improvements.

We devised an innovative approach to managing the 1850 on-site car parking spaces and carefully planned the complementary transport provision to ensure that the headquarters remains an attractive and convenient location for employees and visitors alike.

The Vodafone development demonstrates a sustainable approach throughout and was one of the first major proposals in the country to be assessed under revised planning guidance on transport, with its emphasis on sustainability.
